Cruise Information: | |
Discover the most stunning atolls of the Maldives on one of our outstanding Liveaboards. At the beginning of the journey the planned route is agreed on by captain and dive guide. It varies due to seasonal changes of weather, current and wind. You will be brought to the best dive spots of the Maldives. The dive guides and captains have a lot of experience in choosing the best route according to weather and diving conditions. The colourful labyrinths of the reefs are home to mantas and stingrays, turtles, napoleon wrasses, moray eels and multi-coloured schools of thousands of fish. Nevertheless, you shouldn’t miss the macro attractions such as gobis, blennies, snails and crabs, as well as coral-hung shipwrecks. During outer reef dives gray reef sharks, white tip sharks, hammerheads and whale sharks, eagle rays, barracudas and giant swarms of macarel wait to be discovered. Visibilities of up to 40m/131feet are not exceptional. You will leave the touristy mainstream and explore more remote areas, far from the masses of diving tourists. Liveaboards don’t travel at night, every evening an anchoring site in a calm lagoon is approached.
A good start: | |
You are picked up from the airport (on safari start days). Get to your hotel room faster than ever before. Straight after landing you check in on the boat, which is anchoring nearby. Meeting and cruise starting point is Airport Male. You will be met by a crew member upon arrival at the airport (on safri start days), brought to the ship by Dhoni (the escorting dive boat) and can move into your cabin. As soon as all guests have arrived you are off to the first dive site. Depending to arrival timing a meal is served. The dive guide finds out about the diving qualifications of each guest – don’t forget your logbook! – And after an initial briefing everyone gets on the Dhoni and into the turquoise-blue underwater world. A check dive is compulsory for all guests and is a perfect opportunity to make last adjustments to your gear.
Accommodation on a Liveaboard:
Travelling and living in a laid-back atmosphere. From luxurious to comfy, our boats all offer double cabins, lots of space and amenities to please all tastes. Gone are the times, when one could easily compare Liveaboards with skiing huts from the 50s. Standards have risen remarkably and all ships offered here have sufficient amounts of fresh water (desalination machine on board), a noise-proofed generator, a professionally led kitchen and friendly staff that take care of keeping the living areas clean and tidy. Bed sheets and towels are changed regularly. Rooms vary in size and category, for further details please read through individual boat information. Private showers and toilets are standard. No matter how happy you are with your cabin, you must not miss spending a night on deck beneath the stars!
Food and Drinks: | |
Onboard cuisine is a balanced mix of European and Asian meals and the chef has an open ear for individual wishes. Food is rich and full of variety – it is amazing once and again how the chef creates an ever-exciting menu despite a ship kitchen’s limitations. Diving makes thirsty and a cool drink after the dive is a dear tradition for many. All boats offer alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Some have draft beer, most offer cocktails. Tea, coffee and water are included in the price and are available at all times.
Activities: | |
Should you not feel like diving or tanning, every liveaboard offers a range of activities, to make your stay special. For further details please read through individual boat information. |
